Job Summary Reko Automation Group Inc. is currently seeking an innovative, results driven individual to join our team. Reporting to the Director, Engineering and Technology, the successful candidate will be responsible for the conceptual development, preparation of estimates and written proposals, and presentation to customers of factory automation solutions.

Requirements

Must possess post-secondary education in a relevant technical program, with experience specializing in machine automation design and/or machine automation control systems.
Minimum five (5) years experience in an automation estimating role combined with design and/or project management
Strong problem-solving skills, keen understanding of material and labour costs, with the ability to meet deadlines
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
Capable of presenting convincing concepts in a professional manner to internal and external customers
Ability to recognize and capitalize on new quote opportunities while at customer facilities
Technical knowledge of automation systems, their components, and applications would be considered a strong asset
Capable of using SolidWorks to create machine concepts and model new automation systems considered an asset.
Experience with Siemens Process Simulate, RobotMaster or other types of 3D simulation software would be considered an asset

Responsibilities

Preparation of automation solution concepts and processes applying Reko tribal knowledge, personal experience, and innovative thinking.
Preparation of proposals and cost estimates; according to established deadlines, consistent with specific quality, customer, and legislation standards.
Review and understand customer SOWs for scope and timing.
Consultation with mechanical engineering, controls engineering, and manufacturing departments during the concepting and costing processes to develop automation solutions and accurate cost estimates.
Works to continuously improve the methods utilized within the estimating department, with the goals being innovative and cost-effective solutions, mitigate scope confusion, decreasing proposal lead times, increased estimate accuracy, and increased efficiency.
Work in a team environment with Sales, Estimating, Project Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Management to assist in the successful execution of projects.
Assist sales in follow-up with customer regarding status of proposal, updates, technical explanation.
Attend internal kick off meetings (line up meetings) for new projects to receive an understanding of the scope of the project.
Liaise with customers for technical information and specifications
Liaise with suppliers to obtain accurate equipment information and quotes.
Ensure estimate data is properly entered in Reko CRM
Participate in post project review meetings to compare what was quoted against the completed project.
Some travelling will be required for customer presentations and meetings
