About The Position

Micromeritics, an entity of Malvern Panalytical, is seeking an energetic and scientifically driven Applications Specialist to support our industry-leading particle size and gas adsorption instrumentation. This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of science, technology, and customer engagement in a high-tech environment focused on innovation and discovery. As an Applications Specialist, you will act as a technical expert and trusted advisor to our customers, helping them apply advanced analytical instrumentation to solve real-world scientific and industrial challenges. You will provide hands-on application support, conduct sample analysis, deliver technical demonstrations and training, and contribute to the customer journey from pre-sales through long-term partnership. This is a highly visible role that combines scientific expertise with customer engagement, where you will help ensure customers get the most value from our technology while representing Micromeritics and Malvern Panalytical with professionalism and technical excellence. The role requires travel across the United States to support customer sites, demonstrations, and training.

Requirements

  • You hold an MSc or PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
  • You have at least 3 years of laboratory experience in an industrial, research, development, or academic setting.
  • You have experience working with analytical instrumentation, ideally including Malvern Panalytical or Micromeritics instruments.
  • You are comfortable supporting customers with sample preparation, calibration, validation, and application troubleshooting.
  • You can communicate complex technical concepts clearly through technical presentations, written reports, and customer training sessions.
  • You are confident providing instrument demonstrations, proof-of-concept studies, and method development support.
  • You are organized and capable of managing customer relationships, including maintaining CRM records and supporting the customer buying journey.

  • Willingness to perform basic service activities during customer demonstrations
  • Experienced related to laboratory or instrumentation work
