As an Application Engineer with AWC you will be individually supporting our sales team by working with customers to understand their applications and discuss how technology can be implemented for improvement. The successful candidate must be innovative, passionate, and resourceful while demonstrating technical skills. This position is based in the Dallas Texas Metro area. Relocation assistance is not included.

Requirements

  • 2- or 4-year Technical Degree (Engineering preferred)
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in flow control, valves, instrumentation, or a related process automation discipline
  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities by reviewing customer applications
  • Strong understanding of applications at the P&ID level
  • Field commissioning experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Sales teams
  • Approachable, team-oriented mindset with the ability to coach and support others
  • Strong technical aptitude and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Expanded knowledge of process instrumentation including flow meters, pressure transmitters, temperature instruments, level measurement, and analytical instrumentation
  • Prior experience with control valve sizing software (e.g., Fisher VCONT, Metso Nelprof, or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with industry standards and practices in Oil & Gas, Chemical, or Food & Beverage environments

Responsibilities

  • Technical Sales Support: Provide expert recommendations on valves, actuators, and instrumentation, ensuring products align with customer application requirements
  • Sizing & Selection: Utilize specialized software to calculate flow, pressure drop, and proper sizing for control valves and flow meters
  • System Design & Documentation: Interpret, create, and review technical data sheets, P&IDs, and electrical schematics
  • Project Engineering: Coordinate with Sales, Production, and customers to prepare quotes, bids, and supporting technical documentation
  • Field Support: Assist with installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning to ensure optimal system performance
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate hardware and software proficiency
  • Knowledge Sharing: Document best practices and share with colleagues
