About The Position

Emerson is currently seeking a Applications Engineer in McKinney, TX. This position will provide technical engineering support to both our sales channel and manufacturing sites in Mexico that produce products in our regulator product portfolio in our Pressure Management (PRM) business unit. Periodic support of other global sites may be required. Additionally, as part of high performing team of Applications Engineers that are focused on providing our customers with an elite customer experience. This role is customer facing and you will be involved with diverse range of responsibilities such as technical support, improvement projects and presenting to various audiences. You will collaborate and partner with Regional Sales, Business Development, Marketing and Engineering functions and be responsible for handling your workload to ensure timely and accurate results.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Engineering
  • High mechanical aptitude
  • Excellent written and verbal skills to facilitate effective communication of technical concepts and ideas
  • Interpersonal skills to allow one to work with a wide range of individuals at all levels
  • Ability and desire to Travel Domestically and Internationally (up to 25%)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or Systems Engineering
  • Relevant engineering work or Internship/Co-op experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in a customer facing, service-related, inside sales, or technical sales role
  • Bilingual – English & Spanish
  • Familiarity with a variety of hand and power tools

Responsibilities

  • Function as a liaison between the sales channel and other internal departments (Marketing, Sales, Engineering.
  • Cultivate effective customer and sales channel relationships, and partner with collaborators.
  • Provide technical assistance to the sales channel concerning product applicability and installation practices.
  • Analyze common product problems and communicate solutions.
  • Evaluate engineered to order (ETO) and made to order (MTO) solutions including quotation submittal and quoted price point.
  • Define product modifications and communicate back to appropriate channels
  • Develop and conduct product training for a diverse range of audiences.
  • Prepare technical papers, participate in trade shows, and visit customer sites.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams and promote a shared consciousness.
  • Promote customer awareness among all employees.
