We are currently searching for a Mainframe Application Support Engineer (z/OS / COBOL) :

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of IBM z/OS operating system and architecture .
  • Proficiency in COBOL for application support .
  • Hands-on experience with JCL for batch processing and job scheduling.
  • Knowledge of mainframe subsystems: CICS, DB2, IMS, and MQ .
  • Experience working with IBM DB2 databases , including SQL queries and basic performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with REXX scripting for automation and support tasks.
  • Advanced Oral English.
  • Native Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Provide application support for mainframe-based systems running on IBM z/OS.
  • Support and maintain COBOL applications , ensuring stability and performance.
  • Manage and troubleshoot batch jobs using JCL , including scheduling and execution issues.
  • Work with mainframe subsystems such as CICS, DB2, IMS, and MQ to resolve application incidents.
  • Analyze and resolve database-related issues in IBM DB2 environments.
  • Use REXX scripts for automation and operational support when required.
