About The Position

The Applications Solutions Manager provides solutions-focused leadership across Epic and other enterprise applications to support effective problem-solving, workflow definition, internal process improvement, and solution evaluation. This role manages the Business Analyst team and ensures that solution recommendations, workflow designs, issue analysis, and documentation meet organizational standards. This role is designed to evolve over time. As organizational needs mature and readiness criteria are met, this position may assume direct ownership of one or more enterprise applications, including responsibility for application strategy, lifecycle oversight, and alignment with business objectives.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' expert experience with Epic electronic health record application
  • Minimum 2 years of experience supporting data efforts in a healthcare setting
  • Experience leading or mentoring analysts or technical contributors
  • Strong background in workflow analysis, solution development, and issue troubleshooting
  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems or in a related area
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Prior Epic Technical Services (TS), Epic analyst, or workflow leadership experience
  • Lean/Six Sigma or structured process improvement training
  • Experience working with vendors and supporting multi-application environments
  • Exposure to application lifecycle management or system ownership responsibilities
  • Demonstrate knowledge of advanced systems analysis methods, practices, and principles
  • Ability to translate operational needs into feasible, well‑structured solutions
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial

Responsibilities

  • Manage team in the translation of business requirements and functional specifications into program designs, stable application systems, and other solutions by leveraging partnerships with other team members to ensure business needs and functional specifications are understood
  • Manages the identification of specific interfaces, methods, procedures, and functions to support technical solutions
  • Manages application portfolio and provides resources in support by leveraging partnerships with other teams, vendors, and leaders
  • Manages efforts to ensure new and existing solutions are developed with insight into industry best practices, strategies, and architectures
  • Manages teams through all software development lifecycle phases by ensuring teams understand and adhere to company methodology, policies, standards, and controls
  • Attends and leads various application related meetings, including but not limited to daily huddles, project meetings, application reviews, and change control
  • Work within established change control procedures for all application changes
  • Participate in projects to gather user requirements, design, configure, test and implement systems and applications
  • Coordinates new application releases, fixes and upgrades with technical teams and users
  • Lead solution analysis for issues impacting Epic and other enterprise applications
  • Perform structured root cause analysis and recommend solution paths involving workflows, internal processes, system changes, or vendor engagement
  • Partner with application and technical teams to assess feasibility and cross application impacts
  • Support issue tracking efforts to ensure clarity, communication, and follow through
  • Lead the definition and refinement of current and future state workflows across operational areas
  • Review and validate workflow documentation prepared by Business Analysts for clarity, feasibility, and alignment with system capabilities
  • Ensure workflow artifacts support downstream technical and operational work
  • Leads the definition, refinement, and standardization of internal processes related to intake, analysis, documentation, troubleshooting, and solution evaluation
  • Ensures consistency and clarity across processes to reduce ambiguity, improve efficiency, and support repeatable, high quality solution delivery
  • Identifies and drives process improvements that reduce rework, improve handoffs between teams, and strengthen alignment between business needs and application solutions
  • Work directly with Epic and third-party vendors to gather technical insights, validate solution approaches, and escalate issues as needed
  • Coordinate vendor discussions to support solution clarity and organizational alignment
  • Provide solution and workflow leadership for special initiatives, pilots, and cross functional projects
  • Support PMO led efforts by clarifying workflows, requirements, risks, and solution considerations
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop the Business Analyst team
  • Set expectations for analysis quality, workflow documentation, and solution readiness
  • Assign and prioritize work to align with organizational needs and initiatives
  • Performs other duties as assigned
