About The Position

The Application Project Manager oversees the planning, execution, and delivery of software application projects across the organization. This role ensures applications are implemented, enhanced, or integrated on time, within budget, and aligned with business requirements. The Application Project Manager works closely with stakeholders, developers, vendors, and cross‑functional teams to manage scope, timelines, risks, and overall project success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business, project management, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in application or IT project management.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid).
  • Experience leading cross-functional technical teams.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (Jira, Asana, MS Project, or similar).

Nice To Haves

  • PMP, CAPM, Agile/Scrum certifications.
  • Experience managing application integrations, ERP/CRM systems, or cloud-based solutions.
  • Working knowledge of APIs, data flows, and software architecture concepts.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end project management for application development, upgrades, and implementations.
  • Create detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Manage day-to-day project activities and monitor progress toward milestones.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between business stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Facilitate requirements-gathering sessions and ensure clear documentation of functional and technical needs.
  • Coordinate with developers, QA teams, vendors, and support teams to ensure successful delivery.
  • Identify project risks, dependencies, and roadblocks; develop and execute mitigation strategies.
  • Manage change control processes and ensure scope changes are documented and approved.
  • Track and escalate issues to leadership as needed.
  • Oversee application testing, including test planning, user acceptance testing (UAT), and defect management.
  • Ensure delivered applications meet performance, security, and compliance standards.
  • Validate readiness for deployment and lead go‑live and post-implementation activities.
  • Maintain project documentation including charters, timelines, requirements, and status reports.
  • Provide consistent progress updates to stakeholders and sr. leadership.
  • Track KPIs such as delivery timelines, project cost accuracy, system adoption, and user satisfaction.
