Position Description Individual's in this position are responsible for the development of specific designs for Battery Thermal Management systems (BTMS) & Electronics Cooling Packages (ECP) for Electric Vehicles (EV), Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEV), Diesel Engine Vehicles (ICE) and Hybrid Vehicles using current technology to meet customer requirements most economically.

Requirements

  • College graduate in Mechanical OR Electrical engineering or related technical discipline with limited work experience or 2 - 5 years equivalent experience in the specified engineering discipline
  • A basic understanding of heat transfer and its application to assigned products and of the customer's product and end use are required.
  • Knowledge of structural design, manufacturing processes and computer methods are necessary.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of high voltage & low voltage electrical components and controls would be desired.

Responsibilities

  • Design & Size Battery Thermal Management Systems (BTMS) and Electronics Cooling Packages (ECP) for assigned customers.
  • Ensure understanding of supplier capabilities for electric components like Compressors, Heaters, Coolant pumps, Electric Fans, Sensors, Valve etc.
  • Provide technical assistance to the customers engineering personnel.
  • Coordinate the build and ensure the accuracy of prototypes.
  • Specify test requirements and analyze test results on assigning products to validate performance and durability of new and revised designs.
  • Ensure understanding by plant production and manufacturing personnel of design specifications.
  • Work closely with other departments and the plant to ensure new models are delivered on time and meet all customer requirements.
  • Work closely with Sales personnel with a focus on costing and pricing.
  • Monitor feedback from the field and initiate product improvement when appropriate.
