About The Position

Application Engineer for NA Motors and Drives Business Unit. Server as the technical liaison for the highly valued customers assigned to you by translating customer drawings, specification, and requests into product solutions that meet customer and business needs. Learn customer application to establish tests and procedures for qualifying our products and optimizing our tools and to proactively identify opportunities to bring value to the customer while driving profitable growth for Regal. Act as the subject matter expert in motor and drive products at customer sites and server as the main point of contact between our customer’s engineering team and the NA Motors and Drives engineering team. Support routine product changes, deviations, and sample development. Provide leadership and timely resolution to outstanding customer issues and support basic product tear down analysis of reliability returns for root cause and corrective action development. Lead or support internal qualification efforts on customer impacting design changes and transition projects. Conduct competitive analysis on other manufacturers’ motors. Support the digital customer experience (DCX) by contributing to the frequently asked questions database, providing digital product content, and encourage customers to take advantage of the tool.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience
Demonstrated organizational skills with emphasis on documentation
Ability to gather requirements, write specifications, test plans, and application notes
Exceptional oral and written communication skills
Strong relationship and team-building skills; Including conflict resolution
Individual must be proactive, high energy and have strong problem solving skills
Strong time management skills
Willingness and Ability to learn, help, create and adapt to new technologies
Aptitude for troubleshooting computer hardware and software program issues
Ability to travel and work at a customer site for extended period of time
Fluency in English is required.
Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without requiring company sponsorship to obtain or keep U.S. work authorization.

Nice To Haves

1 to 3 yrs. experience in HVAC, commercial appliance, commercial refrigeration, or electric motor Industry
Ability to interpret electronics and HVAC schematics, bill of materials and engineering drawings
Six Sigma trained, Experience with statistical analysis, Greenbelt certified
Design Experience with ECM and/or PSC motors
Fluency in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

Work as technical liaison for NA Motors and Drives customers; Leading efforts to qualify existing and new motors (ECM & PSC) and other motor and drive products into their applications
Learn customer applications to establish tests and procedures to qualify our NA Motors and Drives products and optimize our tools
Acts as main point of contact between customer engineering team and our NA Motors and Drives engineering team
Support routine product changes, deviations and sample development
Act as a subject matter expert in motor technology at customer site
Provide solutions to our customers for their applications
Conduct evaluations of customer applications and proactively look for opportunities to bring value to the customer while driving profitable growth for Regal
Conduct competitive analysis on motors from other manufacturers
Strengthen relationship with customers by timely resolution of outstanding issues
Help engineering team to flow down customer key requirements to internal product design requirements
Lead or support internal qualification efforts on customer focused design changes and transition projects
Support basic product tear down analysis of reliability returns for root cause and corrective action
Support DCX (digital customer experience)
