Located remotely from your home office, you will be working hands-on with our engineering customers in the field and recommending products that fit into their applications for our Industrial First Fit Market! You'll be working with a variety of internal groups such as sales, business development, product line management and technical, as well as directly with customers. This is an exciting opportunity for you because you will be working with directly with customers that design and build thermal management systems for data centers. There is opportunity to research emerging technology/applications in the data center market to help ensure Gates is staying ahead of market trends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 5+ years of progressive engineering experience, required. Mechanical Engineering degree preferred.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to manage customer personalities effectively.
  • Eager to be hands on working with our customers, engineers, sales, and marketing teams!
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills - coupled with the ability to maintain and generate product application literature, media, and technical articles.
  • Ability to travel to customers, plants and conferences as required (minimum 30%).
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize resources and project timelines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in data center cooling or thermal management systems is a plus.
  • Engineering discipline with a focus on Mechanical, Thermodynamics, or Fluid Power systems, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Providing engineering support to customers and clients in the proper application and selection data center products in our Industrial First Fit Market.
  • Working with customers by recommending products and driving validation requirements to seek approval and have our products specified in their thermal management systems.
  • Effectively present technical material and collaborate with internal/external customers. In addition, engaging with industry standards/groups like OCP.
  • Working cooperatively with North American Field Sales, Product Line Managers, and Marketing teams to achieve organizational success.

  • Salary range: $117,000 - $129,000
