About The Position

Application Development Software Engineer in the CLS development team, supporting the web platform and internal business systems, responsible for designing, building, and maintaining secure, resilient applications by applying secure coding practices, identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities, managing threats, and collaborating across teams to ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of IT experience of which 3+ years should be in Java web technologies including Spring framework (Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring MVC)
  • Excellent knowledge of building and consuming RESTful API’s and microservices.
  • Experience in a diverse set of web app development tools and technologies such as JavaScript , Typescript, HTML5, Bootstrap, Angular.
  • Excellent database skills required. SQL Server and Postgres preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of DevSecOps process and remediating OWASP vulnerabilities.
  • Working knowledge and experience on scripting languages like Python is plus.
  • Excellent knowledge of Data Structures and Algorithms.
  • Hands-on working experience with DAST/SAST tools like Mend/SonarQube etc is a plus.
  • Knowledge/experience on CI/CD pipeline using Jenkins/Bamboo with Bitbucket/Git.
  • Design, develop and maintain high quality web applications using Java and web technologies.
  • Good understanding of the distributed systems and database technologies like SQL Server and Postgres.
  • Experience in developing JS based front ends using Angular/React.
  • The ability to analyze the various quality dimensions including performance, reliability and resilience, cyber security, and design and implement improvements to meet them.
  • Good understanding of OWASP Top 10, secure coding practices, and Windows server hardening techniques.
  • Should have very up-to-date knowledge of latest technologies, technology trends, and third-party integrations, Open-Source Library integration.
  • Should have excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and security awareness.

Nice To Haves

  • B. S. or beyond in computer science or a related field
  • Experience in financial services is plus
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java, Linux and RDBMS
  • Participate, contribute, assimilate, and provide opinion on increasing the security focus on all stages of SDLC during any changes, enhancements and design being done to the applications.
  • Optimize code for performance, scalability, and security.
  • Identify, analyse, and resolve security vulnerabilities in web applications and serverside components. Apply security best practices in development and deployment processes.
  • Work proactively, independently and with global teams to address project requirements.
  • Build new and integrate with existing systems and APIs while ensuring adherence to secure coding standards and best practices.
  • Code and Test cases reviews and ensure code developed meets the requirements.
