About The Position

Morton Buildings, Inc. is the industry leader in post-frame construction. We have been in business for 120 years and have more than 10 manufacturing, fabrication, and shipping plants servicing over 100 construction centers nationwide. Per year, across America, thousands of new buildings sport the familiar Morton M. Morton Buildings, Inc.'s corporate Information Technology (IT) department, located in Morton, Illinois, is offering a paid student internship during the summer. The internship program will allow the student to use relevant skills to participate in a variety of information technology functions via on-the-job training, focusing on Application Development. This is a paid internship opportunity. The hourly pay rate starts at $18. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Requirements

• Strong technical and organizational skills in addition to excellent written and verbal communication skills in a professional environment.
• A high level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm and confidentiality.
• Must be highly motivated with the ability to meet daily deadlines.
• Self-starter with a positive, willing-to-learn attitude.
• Able to work independently, as well as able to work will in a team setting.
• Service minded with excellent communication and solid documentation skills.
• Targeted graduation date during the 2026/2027 school year or students completing schooling at the end of 2025 but still needing to satisfy an internship requirement.
• Pursing a degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Mobile App Development, with a focus on data structures, data mining, application development, or related discipline.
• All candidates offered employment will be subject to a pre-placement test which does include a drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Work in a team environment: Collaborate with others within and outside the IT group to grow your skills in areas such as business analytics, applications development, application delivery, and project management.
• Engage with leading-edge technology: Work with leading-edge technology and tools to meet the challenges of the post-frame construction industry.
• Evaluate and optimize business functions: Work with the application development team to evaluate user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate, enhance, and/or optimize business functions using Microsoft C# .Net, Swift, SQL Server, and Microsoft Web technologies.
• Experience agile development practices: Be exposed to agile development practices.
• Complete special projects: Complete special projects as needed and other duties assigned.
• Participate in special projects and assist in other duties as assigned.
