About The Position

GDC is currently seeking an Application Development Analyst to work on-site in the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania area. This role offers a collaborative environment supporting the design, development, and maintenance of complex enterprise business systems, with occasional travel as required. As an Application Development Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing business requirements, designing and developing system solutions, and supporting complex applications throughout their lifecycle. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions that align with organizational standards and best practices

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of programming and systems analysis experience.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including SQL/T-SQL, SSIS, and SSRS.
  • Proficiency in C# and .NET technologies, including VB.NET and ASP.NET.
  • Experience using version control tools such as GIT.
  • Understanding of systems development methodologies.
  • Technical degree or associate degree in a technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong customer service and stakeholder engagement skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Property and Casualty insurance industry experience.
  • Experience working in enterprise or highly regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Experience reviewing peer code and mentoring team members.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, enhance, and maintain complex application systems in accordance with established programming standards and change control procedures.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and system designs.
  • Write, test, debug, and document new applications and enhancements to existing systems.
  • Develop user interfaces, business rules, reports, data conversions, and system integrations.
  • Coordinate and perform unit, system, and model office testing to validate business requirements.
  • Provide on-call or after-hours application and technical support as needed.
  • Troubleshoot development and production issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutions.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive program-level and system-level documentation.
  • Estimate effort, create action plans, and manage timelines for assigned project work.
  • Interact with clients to clarify requirements, develop test cases, and assist with testing and issue resolution.
  • Review peer code to ensure adherence to development standards and best practices.
  • Mentor junior team members and provide cross-training when needed.
  • Participate in departmental standards committees and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain technical proficiency through ongoing self-development and training.
