About The Position

Riverside Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Application Coordinator with expertise in Epic Chargemaster to join our dynamic team in Kankakee, Illinois. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the effective management and optimization of the Epic Chargemaster application, ensuring accurate and efficient charge capture processes across our healthcare system. This role is pivotal in supporting our mission to provide high-quality care by maintaining compliance, optimizing revenue generating workflows, and enhancing overall system functionality Essential Duties Epic Chargemaster Management: Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the Epic Chargemaster application. Ensure accurate and timely updates to the Chargemaster to reflect changes in regulatory requirements, coding practices, new service and payer policies. Collaborate with clinical and financial staff to ensure accurate charge capture and billing processes. System Integration and Support: Coordinate with IT and application support teams to resolve system issues and implement enhancements. Conduct regular system audits and analyses to identify and address discrepancies or inefficiencies. Managing, updating and resolving IT tickets for chargemaster. Provide end-user training and support to ensure effective utilization of the Epic Chargemaster system. Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of relevant regulations and industry standards to ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer requirements. Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard against billing errors and compliance issues. Data Analysis and Reporting: Generate and analyze reports to monitor charge capture accuracy, revenue integrity, and overall system performance. Use data-driven insights to recommend improvements and drive operational efficiencies. Collaboration and Communication: Act as a liaison between clinical departments, billing teams, and IT to facilitate effective communication and problem resolution. Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and contribute to strategic planning initiatives related to charge capture and revenue cycle management. Non-essential Duties Project Management: Assist in the management of special projects related to charge capture and Epic Chargemaster enhancements as needed. Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation of system configurations, procedures, and best practices. Professional Development: Attend relevant training sessions and workshops to stay current with industry trends and advancements in Epic applications. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Epic certification in Chargemaster or related module(s) required within 6 months of hirer, maintaining certification thereafter.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with Epic systems, specifically in Chargemaster management or similar roles.
  • Experience with charge capture, billing processes, and regulatory compliance within a healthcare setting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Proficiency in Epic applications, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant software tools.
  • Knowledge of APC, CPT, HCPC, ICD modifier and Rev Code preferred.
  • Bachelors degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Additional certifications such as Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Revenue Cycle Specialist (CRCS) preferred.
