About The Position

As an Apparel Design Intern, you will partner with Apparel Designers to ensure that styles developed are trend relevant and meet quality expectations to support global customer needs. You will support creating tech packs, reviewing and organizing fabric and trims, and stay attuned to market trends to inspire fresh, commercially viable designs. Collaborating closely with merchandisers, design directors, and fabric teams, you will support the team with needed tasks.

Requirements

• Possess an elevated sense of style, aesthetic, and color and understand how to translate trends through the lens of the customer and brand filter
• Knowledge of silhouette, fit, fabrication, construction, color use, sewing techniques, and trim
• Creative and self-motivated
• Detail oriented
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to integrate feedback to meet internal objectives
• Reliably meet deadlines and work quickly
• Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and highly collaborative environment
• Pursuing a Degree in Apparel, Fashion Design or other related discipline
• Understanding of garment production
• Advanced Adobe Creative Suite programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign etc.) skills required
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other basic computer programs
• Experience with Mac

Responsibilities

• Support the development of all assigned styles in partnership with Senior Designer
• Support the creation of tech packs and maintaining FLEX PLM
• Support selection of seasonal materials and trims in partnership with the Senior Designer
• Research domestic and global markets to identify new seasonal trends, silhouettes, fabrics, techniques, product categories and competitive inspiration
• Develop strong internal cross functional relationships with Merchandising, Product Development, Technical design, and Materials to ensure product concept to production timelines are met
• Help to execute sketch updates post fittings and take clear notes
• Partner closely with manager to understand workload priorities and development calendar
