Functions as a Nurse Practitioner collaboratively with physician sponsor/s providing leadership of the mid-level providers and acts as a change agent for a specific patient population by incorporating the role of clinical expert, role model, consultant, educator, practitioner, researcher, and nurse leader. Provides clinical expertise to individual patients/families and/or groups of patients/families by providing direct and indirect patient care. Collaborates with the health care team in assessing, designing, implementing, and evaluating population-based programs of patient care to enhance high quality-cost effective patient outcomes. Assumes management responsibility for mid-level providers. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values. • Use of PC and applications including word processing.

• Ability to lead and motivate individuals and groups of people toward the accomplishment of work and organizational goals.

Responsibilities

• Associate Management: Assists in the interview, selection, and training process for all new NP/PAs. Conducts annual performance reviews in collaboration with supervising physician. Maintains personnel records in accordance with Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare and departmental policies.
• Operations: Participates in budget preparation and monitoring. Prepares work schedule for the team.
• Clinical Practice Expert: Provides advanced level of direct and indirect care to individual patients/families and/or groups of patients/families in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
• Education/Clinical Staff Development: Provides leadership and collaborates with other health professionals and educational resources to establish education programs to address the specific needs of populations of patients.
• Evidence-Based Consultant & Researcher: Demonstrates collaborative leadership with researchers, other health professionals, divisions, and departments to generate knowledge and make practice changes based on research findings, as well as, the results of the organizational and departmental quality improvement processes. Oversees clinical protocol development.
• Clinical Leadership: Provides leadership in meeting system, organizational, division, and departmental goals. Demonstrates accountability for professional responsibilities and self-development.
