About The Position

A Brief Overview Under the direction and supervision of a collaborative physician and practicing APP, the APP Fellow-CRNP is a trainee. The APP Clinical Immersion program provides mentoring, didactic teaching, simulation skills training, and experience to prepare the APP Fellow to become a competent inpatient hospital provider. Throughout the program, the APP Fellow will become responsible for the direct care and follow up of a population of patients that matches his/her skill set, through the designated curriculum and timelines. The components of the role include education, clinical practice, consultation, and professional development.

  • Ability to work in a team setting with multiple responsibilities. (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to use computer and electronic medical records effectively. (Required proficiency)
  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • Master's Degree Nursing Required

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the APP Clinical Immersion program educational curriculum.
  • Participates in own professional development by maintaining required competencies, identifying learning needs and seeking appropriate educational offerings.
  • As a part of the learning process, will utilize advanced assessment skills to support the management of a cohort of patients.
  • Performs and documents daily assessments.
  • Collects and analyzes data and formulates a family-centered plan of care.
  • Evaluates and monitors the effectiveness of the prescribed treatment plan.
  • As a trainee, works collaboratively to communicate the plan of care and potential changes to this plan to the supervising physician and assigned Hospital Provider
  • Demonstrates a commitment to patient safety by speaking up about safety issues and changing practices to enhance safety.
  • Shares errors or potential errors through system reporting mechanisms.
  • Demonstrates shared accountability for safe practice.
