About The Position

API/INTEROPERABILITY SPECIALIST (CDAO): Bowhead seeks an API/Interoperability Specialist to support the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO) program located in Arlington, VA. This contract provides enterprise-level program management, governance, process architecture, and enterprise and solution architecture advisory services in support of the CDAO WDP program. The API/Interoperability Specialist establishes secure, consistent, and scalable API standards to enable seamless integration within the WDP and between external systems. The role oversees API governance to ensure compliance with Zero Trust principles and DoD standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • AWS Certified Developer – Associate.
  • API-specific certifications (e.g., Certified API Designer).
  • Minimum 5+ years working in API design, integration, and implementation.
  • Proven experience supporting cross-domain system integrations in DoD environments.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds on occasion.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged period amounts of time.
  • Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically.
  • Must be able to maintain a security clearance at the Top Secret level with SCI eligibility.
  • US Citizenship is a requirement for this contract.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain API standards for secure service exposure, including authentication, authorization, and versioning.
  • Support interoperability for multi-cloud ecosystems by defining API workflows between legacy and mission-specific platforms.
  • Provide technical recommendations for optimizing API lifecycle management.
