About The Position

The A/P and HUD Compliance Specialist is responsible for managing accounts payable transactions and HUD-related functions. This role manages the full-cycle HUD Compliance function for 6 properties with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in HUD Compliance.

Requirements

  • Proven experience with HUD Compliance
  • EIV and Secure Connection (TRACS) User for property. Must be fully knowledgeable and understand process of what is expected by HUD.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining accountability.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Must maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

  • Experience with Section 8 compliance desirable

Responsibilities

  • Enter all vendor invoices and check requests into the A/P system daily.
  • Process payments, print and mail checks, and ensure accurate documentation and filing.
  • Manage full-cycle HUD Compliance function with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Responsible for the completion of annual and interim resident recertifications.
  • Collects all necessary documents for the tenant files. Files must follow HUD and Federal Management standards.
  • Ensures all necessary documents are in tenant files, up-to-date and in the correct order. Perform file audits as needed.
  • Organizes current files in accordance with rules and procedures.
  • Verifies income, assets and medical information.
  • Performs annual reexaminations as well as computing any interim rent changes.
  • Assists participants to complete and sign papers related to beginning housing assistance, interims, and annual recertifications, explaining in terms they understand to ensure compliance with program rules.
  • Establishes, maintains, and updates various logs and books related to the orderly maintenance of records.
  • Ensures all computer records of all tenants are accurate and current. Promptly and accurately maintain all file documentation.
  • Coordinate HUD certification and payment processes, ensuring compliance with HUD guidelines.
  • Process financial transactions for each HUD subsidiary.
  • Reconcile inter-company balances between HUD affiliates and the Charles River Center.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
