The Vermont Agency of Transportation (AOT) is seeking a seasonal Fleet Service Technician to join our Rutland team. Starting pay may be negotiable based on your experience and qualifications. In this role, you'll use your skills in diagnostics, repair, and maintenance to keep a diverse fleet running. Equipment includes light and medium-duty pickups, heavy-duty dump trucks, loaders, backhoes, excavators, trailers, and more. Proficiency with diagnostic software and vehicle electronics is important, as is the ability to collaborate, share knowledge, and stay busy in a team-oriented environment. The work is hands-on and often complex, but it plays a critical role in keeping Vermont's transportation system safe and reliable for the traveling public. This position is eligible for a sign-on and retention bonus of up to $2000! Newly hired CDL and non-CDL holders who are hired into permanent maintenance worker or mechanic job on or after July 13, 2025 are eligible.
