About The Position

Rochester Academy Charter School (RACS) is a public K-12 charter school primarily serving students from the city of Rochester. We are a college preparatory school that uses data-driven instruction to foster student growth. At RACS, we believe that all students have the right to a high-quality education and that restorative practices are essential to a healthy school community. RACS is currently seeking qualified, self-directed, and committed candidates for Anticipated Secondary Teacher positions for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. Actively recruiting in core content areas including Spanish. We are looking for team players who are passionate about urban education and ready to collaborate on curriculum planning and responsive lesson planning practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or relevant content area (Master’s preferred).
  • New York State Teacher Certification is highly preferred. (Candidates with out-of-state certification or in the process of certification will be considered).
  • A commitment to the belief that all students can succeed and an interest in restorative justice.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an urban school setting is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, data-informed instruction in your subject area/grade level.
  • Adapt or create curriculum creatively to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment using restorative practices.
  • Work collaboratively with grade-level teams and the student support team to monitor student progress.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives, professional development, and mentoring programs.
  • Maintain regular communication with families regarding student achievement and behavior.
