About The Position

Cimarron is seeking an Ansible Automation Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at Schriever Space Force Base in the Colorado Springs, CO area. Key Duties: Serve as an Ansible Automation Engineer supporting system buildout and deployment activities for the C2BMC Test Facility in support of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). Design, implement, and maintain automation solutions to streamline IT management and reduce manual configuration tasks. Develop and execute automated processes that enhance system reliability, efficiency, and scalability. Perform troubleshooting, conduct root cause analyses, and recommend corrective actions to resolve system issues. Ensure all system changes comply with established developer documentation, configuration management, and documentation standards. Provide timely updates to team leads, managers, and stakeholders regarding task progress and troubleshooting results. Collaborate with integration leads and managers to define problems, analyze requirements, and implement technical solutions. Use the REMEDY ticketing system to document, track, and manage the problem-resolution lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include, but is not limited to, testing for marijuana use.
  • This position requires access to federal facilities. Candidates must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire.   • Support off-hour mission activities by performing evening and weekend work as required.
  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • 10 or more years of general, full-time work experience.
  • 6 or more years of direct experience using automation tools.
  • 3 or more years of experience specifically implementing and managing Elastic EDR and Defend solutions.
  • 1 or more years of experience working in a management or leadership role.
  • Experience in the creation and modification of Ansible playbooks and roles.
  • Experience in configuring and working with job templates, inventories, workflows, and other Ansible objects.
  • Experience using process automation tools and techniques (Ansible, Terraform, etc.).
  • Experience with coding and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Batch files, etc.).
  • Current DoD-approved 8570 Level II certification, such as Security+ CE.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with running/managing systems and services in a virtualized environment (VMware)
  • Experience with security patching and software management using RedHat Satellite.
  • Experience integrating NetBox with automation tools.
  • Familiarity with software lifecycle and development.
  • RedHat certification in Automation or Administration.
  • Knowledge of Missile Defense, DoD communications systems, and MDIOC operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in an IT or Engineering-related discipline.
