About The Position

The Sales Support Consultant supports the company and team sales goals by building and nurturing relationships with our agents/wholesalers. Responsible for promoting, marketing, and educating agents and wholesalers, primarily through outbound calls, on our company value adds, carrier products, and services using effective sales and marketing techniques. The Sales Support Consultant works with team members to build relationships, attain sales goals, and build business with team assigned Wholesalers.

  • One plus years of experience within an insurance carrier environment required.
  • One plus years of phone sales experience required.
  • Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Iowa Insurance License required within the first 90 calendar days of employment.
  • Valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfill outbound and inbound contacts with potential agents, existing agents, and their staff by telephone and e-mail. Provide sales support and case consultation to agents regarding potential sales opportunities. Understand the business model of the assigned wholesaler in detail. Maintain and update agent information in company database.
  • Produce advanced product illustrations and assist the team with case design.
  • Maintain contact with agents/staff on product quotes, illustrations, and materials sent to agents/staff. Identify and resolve any potential pre-sale and post-sale issues and work to resolve.
  • Contact various insurance carriers by telephone and e-mail to assist with the placement of policies in a timely manner, so that profitability goals are achieved.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on company products and ways to best align products to agents using advanced marketing concepts. Provide agents and their staff with product information, illustrations, and materials required to be licensed and/or write business.
