The Annuity New Business Manager plays a critical leadership role in overseeing the end-to-end processing of annuity applications, ensuring timely, accurate, compliant top-tier service delivery. This role is central to our mission of supporting financial professionals, their staff, and their clients through a seamless and responsive New Business experience. As a people leader, you will guide and develop a team of skilled professionals, drive customer focus, operational efficiency, and cultivate a culture grounded in accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement. You will also serve as a key partner and subject matter expert across departments to enhance processes, ensure regulatory alignment, and support business growth. Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of annuity products, managing new business systems, workflows and processing, field distribution as well as performing system user validation.
  • Understanding of suitability reviews, associated requirements, and applicable regulations.

  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability influence others.
  • Ability to leverage emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence tools, to drive process efficiency and enhance decision-making in a dynamic business environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage through change, lead projects, and implement operational improvements.
  • Proven ability to apply creative problem-solving with a positive, solutions-oriented mindset, effectively managing escalations and complex issues.
  • Strategically think to guide and coach associates, articulate a clear vision, share knowledge openly, and inspire team members to stay engaged and perform at a high level.
  • Ability to work with others in a collaborative team environment.
  • Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent work experience
  • 5–7 years of experience in financial services, preferably in annuities.
  • Minimum 3 years in a leadership or people management role with a track record of developing high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, oversight, and development to team members through training, feedback, mentoring, performance management, fostering technical expertise, continuous improvement, and customer-centric top tier service.
  • Foster a culture of care, ownership, accountability, continuous learning, and excellence.
  • Track and assess team and individual performance against established New Business Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and other key performance metrics.
  • Manage Annuity New Business processes and procedures, including policy development, documentation, training, and compliance with regulatory requirements, to ensure appropriate handling of all applications.
  • Identify opportunities for operational and process improvements, leveraging industry best practices and new technologies.
  • Perform quality reviews of team output to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to established processes and standards.
  • Develop and build an effective and strong relationship with field and regional offices and ensure that team members are responding to field requests within SLA, thereby maintaining a customer-focused environment.
  • Serve as the point of escalation for complex inquiries, complaints, or sensitive situations.
  • Represent New Business in cross-functional collaborations and project work.
  • Stay abreast of changes due to laws and regulations which affect activities of the business such as IRS or NAIC updates, free look process and variable processing.
  • Assist in audit requests, collecting and analyzing data.
  • Support requirements gathering, UAT, as well as triage and remediate production concerns for the Annuity Order Entry and New Business administrative systems.
