About The Position

We’re looking for a full-time Animal Welfare & Intake Counselor to join our animal shelter team. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to make a difference for people and animals in the community! What you’ll do: Provide daily care for shelter animals, including cleaning, feeding, and maintaining kennels. Perform physically demanding work such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Serve as a supportive point of contact for individuals surrendering pets. Assist adopters in finding the right companion. Collect accurate behavioral and medical histories during intake. Provide compassionate guidance regarding relinquishment and humane euthanasia options. Collaborate with medical and animal welfare teams to ensure smooth intake. Obtain Humane Euthanasia Technician certification within 6 months (training provided).
