About The Position

The Arizona Humane Society is looking for a dedicated part-time Transport Driver to join their team at the state-of-the-art Rob and Melani Walton Papago Park Campus. This role is integral to shelter operations, focusing on the safe and thoughtful transportation of animals to and from off-site adoption locations, shelter facilities, and media/adoption events. The Transport Driver will also assist in determining the movement of adoptable animals, ensuring their behavioral and medical criteria are met at each location and kennel. Additionally, the position provides support to shelter personnel by transporting animals to non-AHS facilities, delivering mail, and distributing supplies.

Requirements

High school diploma/GED
Valid Arizona driver's license
Must be 21 years of age
One year of prior work experience
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Acceptable driving record
Ability to pass drug and background screening to be insured as an AHS driver

Nice To Haves

Experience with animal handling is preferred

Responsibilities

Safely and thoughtfully transport animals to and from off-site adoption locations, shelter facilities, and media/adoption events
Help determine the movement of adoptable animals while ensuring the behavioral and medical criteria of each location and kennel is met
Provide additional assistance to shelter personnel as needed, including but not limited to transportation of animals to non-AHS facilities, delivery of mail, and delivery of supplies
