Under general supervision of Comparative Medicine Management and/or staff veterinarians, cares for animals and cleans facilities used in experimental and breeding colonies. CMAR technicians provide daily husbandry of laboratory animals to include (but not limited to) observation of animals, handling and restraint, feeding and watering, changing cages/racks, and sanitizing animal quarters and equipment for multiple species. Operates and/or use supplies and equipment necessary to perform the husbandry duties. Provides daily record keeping for animals and room environments in accordance with LBRI quality assurance standards and regulations. Will maintain cleanliness of the cage wash area, warehouse, diet kitchen and any animal equipment storage areas, and perform all other related duties and tasks as required or assigned. This position is working with Non-Human Primates and will require weekend work.
