About The Position

Pawtown Pet Resort is looking for dog lovers who are passionate about providing excellent care and want to grow with a team of like-minded individuals. The starting pay is $11.00 per hour, with performance-based raises. The ideal candidate will be kind, conscientious, detail-oriented, and have a flexible schedule. The company aims to offer a safe, fun, and rewarding work environment that emphasizes productive teamwork.

Requirements

Works together well with others to make sure all duties are completed and guests are cared for (Team Player).
Able to properly, promptly, and effectively communicate with other team members, management, and pet parents (Good Communicator).
A flexible schedule, with willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed (Flexibility).
Uses keen observation skills to make sure guests are safe and comfortable, and to report any issues as they arise (Attention to Detail).
Comfortable with dogs of all sizes and breeds (Dog Friendly).
An ability to stand/work upright for multiple hours at a time, in all weather types; able to lift at least 50 lbs and remain active throughout your shift (Physical Stamina).

Nice To Haves

Previous petcare/animal experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Overseeing a playgroup of dogs and managing their behavior and playtime.
Learning animal behavior, including canine body language, to provide a safe environment and make dogs comfortable in a kennel and playgroup setting.
Managing the cleanliness of kennels and play areas, maintaining high cleaning standards, including cleaning toys, washing dishes, mopping floors, vacuuming hair, and handling dog messes.
Feeding pets according to parents’ instructions, ensuring all dogs have fresh water, clean bedding, and a comfortable space for overnight stays.
Administering medication according to veterinary instructions.
Using common sense to solve problems related to dogs in care.
Working with initiative to take on various tasks in the center.
Communicating effectively with other team members to ensure everyone is aligned.
Having basic customer service skills and being ready to interact with pet parents about their family members.
Following established safety protocols precisely to ensure a safe and fun environment for guests and staff.
Loving dogs, as there are many of them.
