About The Position

Pinnacle Health Medical Services seeks Anesthesiologists (multiple openings) in Dauphin County, Cumberland County, Lancaster County, York County in PA to perform preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care for patients who undergo surgical procedures. Administer anesthetic or sedation during surgical operations and procedures such as minimally invasive surgery, robotic surgery, and complex multi-stage surgery. Monitor patients’ physical conditions and bodily reactions to anesthesia during surgical procedures. Document all aspects of care directly administered, perform consultations, and communicate with surgeons, patients, family members, and other anesthesia staff. Examine patients’ medical histories and use diagnostic tests to determine and counteract potential risks or adverse reactions that may occur during surgical procedures. Coordinate care and multi-modal pain management plans for patients recovering from surgery and establish preventative health practices. Participate in appropriate medical staff meetings and actively participate in anesthesia department meetings. Participate in Medical Direction of Certified Register Nurse Anesthetists when applicable as part of the Anesthesia Care Team. Participate in supervision and teaching of anesthesia residents when applicable. Participate in non-clinical department duties such as hospital committees, task forces, etc. as directed by the Chair of Anesthesia. Comply with the policies and procedures and perform in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors. Perform other duties as assigned. Clinically supervise up to four CRNAs as part of the Anesthesia Care Team, no administrative supervision.

Requirements

  • Medical degree (M.D., D.O.) or foreign equivalent
  • Completion of Anesthesiology training program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or equivalent organization
  • Board certified or eligible for certification in Anesthesiology
  • Valid unrestricted PA medical license or eligibility
  • DEA certification
