About The Position

The University of Iowa Health Care's department of Anesthesia is seeking a Support Services Coordinator to serve as the Anesthesia Workroom Supervisor. This role supports the daily operations of anesthesia workrooms by coordinating equipment, supplies, and workflow efficiency while ensuring a safe, organized, and compliant environment for patient care. Duties to include: Support daily anesthesia patient-care operations by ensuring equipment functionality, availability, and readiness. Provide technical support to the anesthesia team and be ready to assist in the role of a clinical technician as needed to support daily operations. Troubleshoot operating equipment, assist with room turnovers, and help restock anesthesia supplies. Coordinate repairs for anesthesia machines and maintain accurate equipment records, including tagging newly received equipment. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a health care or business-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of related experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other PC-based applications used for documentation, communication, and data tracking.
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively with clinical teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience troubleshooting equipment and coordinating repairs or preventative maintenance.
  • Familiarity with EPIC, PeopleSoft, Oracle, Strata, or other clinical/administrative systems.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of medical equipment, surgical instrumentation, or anesthesia-related equipment.
  • Experience developing or delivering equipment training, simulations, or technical education.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
