Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Knowledge and skill in the operation of a personal computer.
Good oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Assist anesthesia providers and provides support for anesthetizing procedures by assisting in the preparation and maintenance of patient equipment and anesthesia delivery systems ,and ensuring adequate supply levels in anesthetizing locations:
Checks anesthesia machines and anesthesia carts ensuring appropriate PAR level of supplies in each room prior to the beginning of the surgery schedule and between procedures.
Organizes, manages supply levels and ensures environmental cleanliness of the anesthesia workroom.
Responds to calls from locations where anesthesia care is provided and answers questions as appropriate regarding duties within their scope of practice.
Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injury‑accident to supervisor.
Dispose of contaminated materials and disinfect equipment following policy and procedure concerning biohazardous waste.
Follows hospital policy for point of use cleaning and the transport of contaminated equipment.
Cleans anesthesia equipment at the beginning of each day and following each use per hospital policy.
Follows hospital policy related to surgical attire and appropriate use of personal protective equipment.
Performs technical support as well as first level maintenance on anesthesia equipment
Identifies malfunctioning equipment, trouble shoots equipment problems and refers more serious problems to Biomed.
Ensures appropriate storage of equipment.
Communicates effectively in written and oral mode.
Gives appropriate feedback and remains open to feedback from others.
Recognizes and demonstrates congruence between verbal and non-verbal behavior.
Reports identified patient related problems using the appropriate supervisory channels and processes.
Other duties as assigned by supervision.
