About The Position

As a Android Software Engineer Intern on the Stats & Insights team, you'll help build and improve the Android experiences that power how athletes, families, and coaches understand performance on GameChanger. You'll work on meaningful product features that surface stats, insights, and visualizations to millions of users. This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll collaborate closely with Android engineers, product managers, designers, and data partners to ship production-quality code. You will report directly to one of the team's experienced Android Engineers.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Experience building and shipping a technical project (coursework, internship, research, hackathon, or personal project)
  • Experience developing Android applications using Kotlin (preferred) and/or Java
  • Ability to independently scope and execute defined work with guidance

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of Android fundamentals (activities/fragments, networking, state management, multi-module architecture)
  • Experience with modern Android architecture and tooling (Jetpack Compose, MVVM, Kotlin Coroutines, StateFlow/SharedFlow)
  • Familiarity with reactive programming patterns (RxJava or Kotlin Flow)
  • Exposure to data-driven product development (analytics, experimentation, or metrics-driven iteration)

Responsibilities

  • Taking end-to-end ownership of designing, building, testing, and shipping Android features that improve how users view and interact with stats and performance insights.
  • Building reusable UI components and architecture improvements to enhance performance, scalability, and maintainability of the Stats & Insights surfaces.
  • Integrating APIs and data models to ensure accurate, performant, and reliable presentation of game and season statistics.
  • Using analytics and experimentation results to iterate on features and improve engagement, clarity, and usability.
  • Collaborate closely with teammates and stakeholders, receive consistent feedback, and contribute work that drives measurable impact.
