Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Software, Computer Engineering, or Physics or a related field and 6 years of experience in the job offered or in a computer-related occupation
Experience must include 6 year in the following:
Coding in an industry-standard language (e.g., Kotlin, Java)
Android application development using Android SDK
Software development tools: code editors (Android Studio) and revision control systems (e.g., Git or Perforce)
Linux, UNIX, or other Unix-like operating systems, including file manipulation and command-line usage
Building highly scalable, high-performance solutions
Embedded systems development, including application development and debugging
Setting technical direction for a team, driving consensus, and enabling successful cross-functional partnerships
Building maintainable and testable codebases, including API design and unit testing techniques
Multithreaded programming and mobile memory management

Responsibilities

Research, design, develop, build, and test systems-level software to deliver Instagram experiences on Android-based devices, including Meta’s latest cutting-edge AR glasses and smartwatches and beyond.
Reimagine and reinvent product experiences by leveraging the unique capabilities of each device to create immersive, intuitive, and device-native Instagram functionality (not simply porting the mobile app).
Build core Instagram experiences from the ground up on these devices to connect users globally through new AR technology.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, design, operations, infrastructure) to deliver innovative application experiences.
Implement custom user interfaces using modern programming techniques and technologies.
Develop reusable software components for interfacing with back-end platforms.
Analyze and optimize code for quality, efficiency, and performance.
Lead complex technical or product efforts and provide technical guidance to peers.
Architect efficient and scalable systems to support complex applications.
Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues.
Work across multiple coding languages and technologies as needed.
Establish ownership of components, features, or systems with expert end-to-end understanding.
