This position works under minimum supervision to provide professional skills relating to preparation and provision of cadavers and other anatomical materials required for teaching laboratories. Responsible for the donor recovery, preparation, and handling of anatomical specimens for medical research and education. Communicates with next-of-kin to obtain required documentation (e.g., first call sheet, death certificate, cremation forms) and provides information about the donation process. Coordinates and may perform donor removals from hospitals, nursing homes, and private residences, ensuring timely, respectful recovery and transport. Completes case reports and donor recovery documentation in compliance with departmental protocols, applicable regulations, and state laws. Performs anatomical embalming and processes anatomical specimens, ensuring proper traceability, storage, and final disposition in accordance with all legal standards. Completes accurate records of all anatomical specimens, including receipt, issuance, and final disposition. Performs additional duties as assigned to support departmental operations.
