The mission of Kaiser Permanente Southern California Graduate Medical Education (KPSC GME) is to provide world-class education, built on the pillars of Permanente Medicine, to prepare new physicians to care, to learn, to lead, and to improve the health of the people and diverse communities they will serve. Within the Graduate Medical Education Department, the Research and Education team supports resident and faculty scholarly activities, organizes training and development workshops, and supports GME committees focused on research, faculty development and GME wellness initiatives. During the summer, the intern will have opportunities to participate in data collection, analysis and dissemination of ongoing quantitative research projects. The intern will also assist with the planning and implementation of various training workshops including a large faculty development workshop and several research training workshops. The intern will also assist with an evaluation and refinement of existing informational resources designed for residents, fellows and faculty and will seek to make these materials more accessible and useful to the target audiences. This work will involve collaborating with current residents, fellows and faculty members who are key stakeholders. There will also be opportunities for the intern to assist with the development of a leadership curriculum for residents and with implementation of projects to improve well-being in GME. Under supervision assists in the provision of information, maintenance of databases, report production and routine data analysis. Work is reviewed for completeness, accuracy and soundness.
