About The Position

Analytical Organic Lab Co-Op - Fall 2026 Here at Entegris, we use advanced science to enable technologies that transform the world, and we are seeking employees who have the drive to continue the mission. The Role: Our site in Billerica, MA is seeking an Analytical Organic Lab Co-Op to join our team for the Fall 2026 season. This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration. The Analytical Organic Chemist Co‑op will perform experiments to evaluate liquid filtration and purification products in the R&D Metrology Labs. This role also involves developing and validating new organic analysis methods using advanced instrumentation to assess various filter and purifier materials performance, supporting membrane R&D and new product development efforts. Through this assignment, the Co‑op will gain hands‑on experience in analytical testing for semiconductor filtration and purification technologies while receiving valuable professional development in an industrial research environment.

Requirements

  • Must have collage level chemistry lab experience that includes safely handling chemicals, operating basic laboratory equipment, generating and interpreting data.
  • Detail-oriented
  • Able to work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrates clear communication skills and motivation to learn.
  • Must be a currently enrolled student
  • Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in mid-May/June through August/September.
  • Must be familiar with the university’s requirements to participate in a co-op program
  • Entegris is not currently hiring candidates for co-ops/internships who will need, now or at any time in the future, Entegris sponsorship through the H1-B lottery.
  • Some of the instruments in lab will flash during operation so candidates cannot be photosensitive.
  • Candidates need to be able to lift a 17-pound solvent bottle to chest height.
  • Candidates need to be able to evacuate the laboratory without assistance in an emergency.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and experience in operating GC-MS, HPLC, LC-MS is a plus.
  • Knowledge of organic analysis and organic synthesis is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct organic analysis using GC-MS, Pyrolysis-GC-MS, LC-MS, G-NVR, and TOC.
  • Analyze test results and provide recommendations for optimizing testing methods.
  • Maintain accurate records and document the new testing method.
  • Present project progress in group meetings.
  • Qualitative and quantitative analysis of organic impurities.
  • Total organic carbon test in corrosive solvents used in semiconductor production.
  • Build up internal library/database with LC-QToF to increase efficiency on unknown compounds identification.
  • Participate in organic impurities mapping in different solvents to provide valuable information to internal customers for solvent picking.
  • Sample preparations that increase the method detection limit.
