The Role: Our site in Riegelwood, NC is seeking an Analytical Lab Analyst Co-Op to join our team for the Fall 2026 season. This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration, beginning in June through December. In this role, you will support daily operations within the Analytical Laboratory by performing routine testing, preparing samples, and operating key analytical instrumentation such as HPLC, GC, and spectroscopy tools. You will assist with data analysis, troubleshooting, and documentation to ensure product quality and compliance with laboratory standards. This co‑op provides hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment while working alongside experienced scientists and technicians.

Requirements

  • Ability to rapidly respond to new situations and perform multiple tasks.
  • Must have good organizational and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience/basic knowledge of working in a lab
  • Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year: Chemistry or related physical/biological sciences, graduating in December 2026 or later
  • Eligibility: Must be a currently enrolled student
  • Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in mid-June through December.
  • Must be familiar with the universities requirements to participate in a co-op program

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely routine analytical support using GC, GC/MS, HPLC, KF, LOD, NMR and other wet chemistry analytical techniques for analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished goods
  • Follow work instructions for methods already in place.
  • Maintain a safe, organized work environment according to lab specific procedures.
  • Aid in continuous improvement efforts for existing analytical methods to meet growing customer demand.
  • Track analytical job progress in Labware LIMS and manage sample queue in the analytical lab.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and calibration as needed.
  • Maintain and support lab practices and documentation per relevant ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Accurately document experiments and results.
  • Provide support to other scientists as needed and assigned.
