About The Position
The Analytical Lab Assistant is responsible for providing support to scientists with lab tests and research. The incumbent receives, stores and distributes supplies, assists with pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical test processes, and other related tasks.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in chemistry/Biochemistry/ Analytical Chemistry/ Pharmaceutical Chemistry related preferred.
- 1-3 years’ experience in related work
- Oral and written communication skills
- Ability to read and follow written instructions
- Ability to measure in pounds, ounces and liters
- Ability to read, understand and implement written laboratory procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Analytical skills are necessary for completion of tasks within the department.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment, and effectively interact with all levels of staff
- Ability to demonstrate time management and perform a variety of tasks with changing deadlines
- Ability to learn basic laboratory safety procedures and policies, and work to ensure a safe working environment.

Responsibilities
- Orders, receives, stores and distributes supplies
- Keeps work areas stocked and cleaned
- Reviews inventory for expiration dates, and works to prevent inventory shortages of stock that is used on a regular basis
- Cleans and prepares lab tools for future use
- Organizes and archives documents
- Assists with pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical test processes
- Extracts lab products such as chemicals and fluids from bulk storage, and distributes smaller portions for daily lab use
- Assists in preparing chemical solutions according to methods, performs daily balance calibrations on equipment, conducts daily checks of temperature and humidity and records results
- Participates in a variety of training, including GMP procedures, as well as have the ability to learn/perform analytical tests/methods as needed
- Works on routine assignments per written procedures. The ability to recognize deviation from accepted practices is required.
- Works under close supervision from supervisor or senior staff.
- Performs job specific tasks in compliance with applicable regulations, international standards, and company policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
