Watch to learn more Job Summary Under direct supervision of the Associate Director for Student Success Analytics, the Analyst will play a crucial role in utilizing SQL, Oracle Databases, Data Warehouses, Data Analytic Software, and Business Intelligence (BI) tools to create, maintain, and report institutional data. The incumbent will conduct data analyses and prepare ad hoc data reports. This person will also play a significant role in supporting the database administrator with tasks related to data modelling, repairing and/or maintaining database procedures, data file transfers via utility programs, and documentation.

Requirements

  • Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or related technical field required.
  • The ideal candidate has foundational proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, Python, and R; data visualization tools including Tableau and Power BI; and data warehouse platforms like Oracle, Azure, and Amazon Redshift.
  • They possess working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, web utilities, and administrative survey methods, with the ability to gather, analyze, and present data across multiple formats.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, a collaborative and customer‑service oriented approach, and a commitment to adhering to all university policies—including safety, civility, information security, and non‑discrimination are essential.
  • Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.
  • Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures.

  • Two (2) or more years of experience processing, cleaning, creating dashboards or other data visualizations.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize SQL, Oracle Databases, Data Warehouses, Data Analytic Software, and Business Intelligence (BI) tools to create, maintain, and report institutional data.
  • Help administer Tableau server and IR&A Oracle databases and warehouses; including data modeling, desktop upgrades and tuning, security and administration.
  • Utilize data analytic tools and software to design and conduct basic and advanced analytics and reporting.
