The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites four days per week and work remotely one day. A member of our recruitment team will provide more details. The Global Operations Planning for the Americas (GOPA) team provides strategic guidance and execution support for initiatives driven by Tokyo Head Office (HO). Acting as a key liaison between Tokyo HO and regional stakeholders, the team supports operational initiatives across the Americas, including the U.S., Canada, Brazil, and Mexico, and is responsible for various management and HO reporting activities. Job Summary: This role sits within a planning-focused function responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring cross‑functional initiatives and projects. The Analyst will work independently and collaboratively with business partners across Operations, GCIB/JCIB front offices, and other internal teams to enhance the operational and systems management framework and to improve efficiency and accuracy. The position carries accountability for initiative and project management, ongoing management and HO reporting, and related administrative responsibilities. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong ownership, the ability to deliver under time pressure, and a solid understanding of day‑to‑day operational products and processes, with the capability to contribute to more complex matters. Given the global nature of the role, overtime may occasionally be required due to time zone differences between the U.S. and Japan, as well as extensive cross‑departmental collaboration across regions.

Requirements

  • 1.5+ years of experience in the financial services industry
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and related tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power Automate, Power BI Desktop, Visio, and Outlook
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a diverse, cross‑cultural environment
  • Proactive, self‑motivated, and able to contribute effectively to team‑oriented projects and initiatives
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders
  • Deadline‑driven, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver regular and ad‑hoc reports to senior management, regional offices (Canada, Mexico, Brazil), and Tokyo HO
  • Lead or support initiatives and projects, partnering closely with Tokyo HO, GCIB/JCIB front teams, and other stakeholders to align with HO strategies and policies while improving operational efficiency and accuracy
  • Lead or assist in Nostro account management and related implementation activities
  • Respond to inquiries from Tokyo HO and other regions, including complex or irregular cases
  • Track and report initiative and project progress, proactively escalating risks and issues
  • Support project planning activities, including resource estimation, work breakdown structures, and scheduling
  • Prepare and maintain executive‑level reports and presentation materials for complex initiatives and projects
  • Collaborate with team members and management to prioritize work and achieve team objectives
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
