This role protects the customer promise by ensuring order issues are identified early, prioritized appropriately, and resolved quickly without disrupting standard warehouse execution flows. The role operates at the intersection of order management, warehouse execution, inventory availability, and transportation cutoffs, providing hands‑on operational control to minimize service risk. This position emphasizes judgment, prioritization, and execution discipline, rather than people leadership or policy ownership.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in warehouse operations, order management, inventory control, or WMS‑enabled distribution environments.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing and resolving order or execution exceptions in a distribution setting.
  • Working knowledge of WMS order management, inventory availability, and warehouse execution flows, including exception handling and re-wave processes
  • Strong judgment and prioritization skills in time‑sensitive operational environments.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and execute within structured escalation and decision frameworks.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting operations with tight carrier cutoffs and customer‑critical service commitments.
  • Experience operating in environments with high exception volume or service risk exposure.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills related to order flow and execution constraints.
  • Exposure to Lean / Continuous Improvement practices in a distribution or fulfillment environment.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and resolve distribution‑center‑originated order exceptions, including shorts, mis‑picks, damages, holds, priority pulls, and system mismatches.
  • Identify customer‑critical orders at risk and take immediate containment actions to prevent service failures.
  • Escalate unresolved or systemic issues to supervisory leadership with clear context and recommended actions.
  • Prioritize order exceptions based on customer impact, service risk, and carrier cutoff timing.
  • Execute re‑waves, priority releases, or controlled workarounds to recover service without destabilizing standard execution.
  • Balance exception handling with warehouse flow to avoid unintended downstream disruption.
  • Coordinate with Inventory Management, Warehouse Operations, Transportation, and Customer Service to execute remediation plans.
  • Align exception resolution actions with real‑time inventory availability and transportation capacity.
  • Serve as a central point of communication for customer‑critical execution issues originating within the DC.
  • Manage order status updates and system corrections to reflect true ship capability and execution status.
  • Ensure system visibility accurately reflects order disposition, prioritization, and recovery actions.
  • Maintain clear documentation of actions taken for traceability and follow‑up.
  • Document root causes and recurring exception drivers to support continuous improvement and prevention efforts.
  • Provide input into process, system, or control improvements that reduce future exception volume.
  • Support operational reviews with data and insights related to exception trends and service risk.
