This role executes physical and system‑based inventory controls, including cycle counting, quarantine verification, slotting validation, and variance analysis, ensuring that inventory locations and balances are accurate, auditable, and aligned between physical stock and the warehouse management system (WMS). The role operates at the intersection of inventory control, slotting execution support, WMS discipline, and warehouse operations, providing hands‑on execution to maintain stable operations and minimize service disruption caused by inventory, slotting, or system discrepancies. This position emphasizes accuracy, discipline, and follow‑through, rather than decision authority or policy ownership.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, or slotting‑supported WMS‑enabled distribution environments.
  • Demonstrated experience performing cycle counts, variance research, inventory system transactions, and slotting execution support.
  • Working knowledge of WMS inventory, location, and slotting modules, including system transactions and physical controls.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow standard work and control procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, Information Systems, or related field
  • Experience operating in environments with high inventory and location accuracy risk.
  • Experience supporting operations through slotting changes, re‑layout activities, or velocity‑driven location updates.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills related to inventory and location discrepancies.
  • Exposure to Lean / Continuous Improvement practices in a distribution environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform cycle counts and recounts in accordance with established inventory control and counting schedules.
  • Execute physical verification of inventory locations, quantities, and conditions to ensure alignment with system records.
  • Validate quarantine locations, hold status, and segregation controls, ensuring product is properly located, labeled, and controlled.
  • Support slotting and re‑slotting activities by validating item locations, storage types, and quantities following approved slotting changes.
  • Perform physical and system checks to confirm slotting updates are executed correctly and do not introduce inventory discrepancies.
  • Identify and escalate slotting‑related execution issues that could impact picking accuracy, replenishment, or throughput.
  • Research, document, and track inventory and location variances, including discrepancies related to slotting or location changes.
  • Prepare variance documentation and supporting evidence for review by Inventory Management and leadership.
  • Execute approved inventory adjustments in the WMS with appropriate authorization and audit trail.
  • Ensure all physical inventory and slotting activity is accurately and timely reflected in the WMS.
  • Support daily reconciliation efforts between physical inventory, locations, and system balances.
  • Identify and escalate system or execution issues that could impact inventory accuracy or operational stability.
  • Support audit and compliance reviews related to inventory accuracy, slotting execution, holds, and adjustments.
  • Ensure inventory and slotting activities comply with safety, regulatory, and quality requirements.
  • Maintain clear documentation to support audit readiness and traceability.
  • Partner with Warehouse Operations, Inventory Management, Quality, and IT teams to resolve inventory and slotting execution issues.
  • Support system changes, process updates, and operational transitions by executing required inventory and slotting validation activities.
  • Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities related to inventory accuracy, slotting execution, system usability, and execution discipline.
