About The Position

Jupiter Power is an energy infrastructure company focused on the development, construction, trading and operation of battery energy storage assets across U.S. power markets. Formed in 2017, the company is a national leader in energy storage deployment, utilizing its proprietary optimization applications daily to dispatch its fleet and support its offtake customers. Backed by BlackRock’s Diversified Infrastructure business, Jupiter Power has a strategic portfolio of nearly 2,300 MW / 5,000 MWh in operations or under construction and a pipeline of over 12,000 MW in new projects in development. We are seeking an Analyst, Regulatory Compliance to join our Regulatory Team. In this role, you will be responsible for focusing on ensuring compliance with NERC (CIP & O&P) and other regulatory requirements in the energy industry. Responsibilities include managing compliance documentation, supporting audits, monitoring regulatory changes, and coordinating with internal teams to meet compliance standards. This role will be based out of either our Houston, TX or Austin, TX office and is subject to our Company’s return-to-office policy which currently requires a minimum of three days a week in the office.

Requirements

  • A relevant degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Business, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the energy industry. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Working experience with NERC Standards (CIP or O&P) preferred.
  • Experience with utility-scale battery storage or other inverter-based energy projects preferred.
  • Experience interpreting regulatory standards and applying them to real-world operational environments
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint or other document management tools preferred.
  • Working knowledge of project management tool(s) preferred.
  • Working knowledge of organized wholesale electricity markets protocols and practices (e.g., ERCOT, CAISO, PJM, MISO, NYISO, ISO-NE, SPP, etc.) preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Advanced research and writing skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, up to 15% of the time.
  • High comfort level with fast-moving organizations, with the curiosity and enthusiasm to innovate and formulate new ideas and to bring the best out of co-workers.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with SMEs across Cybersecurity, OT/SCADA, IT Networking, Physical Security, Operations, and Change Management to validate compliance evidence.
  • Conduct ongoing monitoring of NERC Reliability Standards (CIP & O&P) to assess impacts on company assets, processes, and evidence requirements.
  • Support NERC Evidence Management, ensuring documentation is complete, accurate, and aligned with NERC audit expectations.
  • Coordinate and participate in NERC CIP & O&P audits, spot checks, and internal controls assessments, including managing RSAW preparation and subject matter expert interviews.
  • Monitor and validate implementation of controls and ensure documentation remains audit-ready.
  • Support regulatory governance activities, including policy updates, procedure maintenance, and annual reviews.
  • Perform internal compliance monitoring, including control testing, sample testing, and identification of gaps or process deficiencies.
  • Support the preparation, submission, and tracking of routine and ad hoc compliance deliverables (e.g., RFIs, reports, filings, and records) for various agencies including, but not limited to, ISO/RTOs, PUCs, FERC, and other applicable local, state, and federal authorities.
  • Maintain compliance evidence repository, documentation and records, including shared folders, inboxes, filing calendars, tracking tools, and internal resources.
  • Provide project management support to ensure regulatory initiatives and obligations are executed accurately and on schedule.
  • Support research, planning, and preparation of new project compliance readiness efforts.
  • Support internal groups (O&M, Engineering, Asset Management, Remote Operations Center, and Market Operations) in understanding compliance obligations and associated deliverables by developing and implementing tools and training.
  • Provide support for real time operational compliance monitoring activities.
