About The Position

Position Overview The Analyst, QC Virology is responsible for supporting QC analytical methods including cell culture, viral infectivity assays, growth and purification of viral stocks, viral titer, and qPCR-based methods. This role supports bioassay methods, including cell- and plate-based methods such as residual DNA, HCP, and protein binding assays. The Analyst, QC Virology generates and reviews Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) testing results and assists in identifying laboratory exceptions, invalid assays, deviations, and corrective and preventative actions and identifies areas for laboratory improvement. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry or other relevant scientific discipline with 0-1 years of relevant experience
  • Basic understanding of GMP, GLP, GDP requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a GMP virology or bioassay laboratory
  • Experience with LIMS software

Responsibilities

  • Supports analytical methods that require aseptic techniques, including viral infectivity assays, qPCR, adventitious agent assays, growth and purification of viral stocks, and viral titer
  • Prepares media and performs cell culture maintenance for multiple cell lines
  • Participates in cell-based and plate-based analytical methods, including protein-binding assays (dot blot, ELISA) and residual DNA and protein testing
  • Performs routine tasks such as QC testing in support of manufacturing, and supporting laboratory operations and execution of method transfers and validations
  • Reports assay performance, and identifies and assists in implementation of process improvements to ensure quality and efficiency within the laboratory
  • Provides general laboratory support, including maintaining laboratory supplies, maintenance of laboratory equipment, receiving and ordering materials
  • Troubleshoots routine assays and laboratory equipment
  • Ensures analytical testing data is accurately captured in LIMS software
  • Supports laboratory lab activities such and maintaining laboratory supplies, material receipt, and equipment maintenance
  • Reviews general laboratory testing results and documentation
  • Assists with authoring and reviewing SOPs
  • Performs other duties, as assigned
