About The Position

The Product Analyst is responsible for understanding current business needs and working collaboratively with Business and Globel Enterprise Technology (“GET”) teams to capture and define business processes and product needs.  The Analyst is responsible for the collection/documentation of requirements and opportunities/solutions to enable the business strategies within a defined scope.  The analyst contributes to the design, development, and maintenance of GET computer systems and software products.  The analyst uses business and technical knowledge to solve business problems by means of a systematic and disciplined approach. This position employs business process knowledge, analysis, design, testing and collaboration with business partners and technical peers to accomplish assignments.

Requirements

  • Requires at least a bachelor's degree in business/management, Information Technology, Engineering, Math, or similar.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Working knowledge of business process analysis, concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of creativity combined with analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to communicate, sell, and implement business solutions.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with technical peers and business partners.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team.  May assist and guide junior staff as necessary.
  • Strong with methodologies, tools, best practices, and processes within specific areas of responsibility.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to support production systems; analyze and access reported issues and collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to remediate issues with established SLAs.
  • Ability to act as a business partner to capture needs and translate them into product specifications.
  • Knowledge/expertise in collaboration tools; ability to document product details; ability to create and manage epics and stories throughout product delivery lifecycle.
  • Proficient in Atlassian Confluence/Jira, Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Ability to capture domain specific knowledge and share in written form with business partners and Product / Engineering teams.
  • Ability to translate support and product development needs to QA teams to ensure product quality.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business system requests and business / GET user needs.
  • Designs and supports the implementation of business computer systems and software products.
  • Creates functional design specifications.
  • Performs the testing and certification process.
  • Supports and maintains computer systems and software products.
  • Interprets, refines, and applies methods and procedures in accordance with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) / Agile methodology, Information Technology industry standards and best practices as defined by Royal Caribbean Group
  • Remains current with industry trends to conceive, prototype and recommend functional approaches for software systems and solutions that meet business needs.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
