About The Position

Sunstone is seeking an Operations Analyst to join our team! As a n analyst of Loan and Financial Operations, , you’ll report directly to the senior manager of Financial Operations and help grow Sunstone’s banking partnerships, support loan operations, cash management and accomplish important projects and functions. You will be responsible for daily cash flow transactions between our financing partners, installers, and vendors, including loan portfolio servicing, solar installer funding requests, project milestone cash disbursements, borrower remittances, and reporting, as well as supporting the day-to-day operations, and performing loan allocation per investor credit boxes, pricing, and policies. Candidate must have a strong interest in operational support and client service, be a team player with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic, well organized with exceptional attention to detail and communication skills, and comfortable working in a fast-past environment with the ability to handle multiple competing tasks beyond the scope of the job description to ensure Sunstone’s success. Expect significant autonomy in a quickly evolving role and industry and help us build a company that is agile, partner focused, and value driven.

Nice To Haves

  • A four-year college degree: an additional two for an MBA or other advanced degree is even better!
  • Previous start-up experience – or sell us as to “why now?” for a start-up
  • Previous experience in renewable finance or a similar industry, or any experience with lending or complex financial structuring

Responsibilities

  • Manage funding programs and cash disbursements for installers and third-party partners
  • Serve as a key point of contact for installers and external partners, answering questions and resolving issues efficiently and professionally
  • Track, reconcile, and validate payment data to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, and drive solutions from start to finish
  • Support the day-to-day operations, including loan origination, servicing, and portfolio management
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and scalability of our process and operations
  • Demonstrate organizational skills, strong written communication skills, and exceptional verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate willingness to dig into details – conduct research into issues, make recommendations to revise our support model, drive to a well-thought-out conclusion
  • Strong work ethic — you take ownership, meet deadlines, and don’t let things slip
  • Comfort working with numbers, data, and financial processes
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced startup environment
