About The Position

The AES Corporation (NYSE: AES), a Fortune 500 company, is a global leader in the energy revolution, operating in 14 countries. Recognized as a Top Ten Best Workplace for Innovators and a Great Place to Work, AES is committed to innovation and collaboration. The company is ranked #1 globally in renewable energy sales to corporations, with $12.7B in revenues in 2023, providing electricity to 25 million customers worldwide. AES is dedicated to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, aligning with the Paris Agreement goals, and is driving global decarbonization through innovative solutions like 24/7 carbon-free energy for data centers. This role is for a highly motivated, curious, and technically inclined individual to join the Operations Technology (OT) team, supporting utility-scale renewable energy assets across the United States. It is distinct from a typical entry-level IT role, involving direct engagement with systems that monitor and control solar, wind, and battery energy storage sites. The position supports real-time operations crucial for power generation, grid reliability, and revenue. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience in networking, SCADA systems, industrial devices, and cybersecurity within a fast-paced, high-ownership environment. AES emphasizes hiring individuals based on their problem-solving abilities, capacity for learning, and performance under pressure, rather than solely on existing knowledge.
