This is professional, advanced-level work within the Accounting and Finance Department performing complex financial and analytical activities that require a high level of independent judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Work includes defining financial or operational issues, conducting advanced research and analysis, interpreting financial data, and developing sound recommendations, and may involve reviewing the work or providing guidance to lower-level Analysts. Incumbents assume full responsibility for major accounting, financial, or budgetary projects or programs and are accountable for the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of their work products. Positions allocated to this classification report to a designated supervisor and operate under limited supervision. Work in this class is distinguished by the advanced and specialized nature of the financial analysis, reporting, and research performed in support of departmental and organizational objectives. Working knowledge of relevant software such as SAS, R and Python are a plus. This posting may be used to fill multiple positions. Candidates may be considered at a lower level underfill, as appropriate. An eligibility list may be established and used to fill future vacancies.
