To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com The Analyst role will be critical to assisting the Equity Derivatives desk with corporate/macro analysis and trade ideas as well as providing daily marketing materials for Sales to discuss and distribute to clients. This information should have direct positive impact via commercial outcomes with our clients and the Trading desk’s P&L. This candidate will be responsible for supporting senior sales in all aspects of client coverage, including trade execution, disseminating trade recaps, liaising with Middle Office to ensure timely trade settlement, and maintaining databases that track our commercial activity. In addition to learning from senior salespeople, this role will also be working closely with our Trading desk on ideas and risk sharing. As product knowledge increases, the role will expand to include direct client coverage responsibilities.

Requirements

Series 7 and 63 is required.
Thorough understanding of the financial markets and market influences, including general current affairs.
Ability to deal with the inherent conflict between the sales and trading functions and maintain a strong position in the face of opposition.
Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with clients and staff.
Ability to relay complex news/developments in a concise/clear manner.
Ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate a working knowledge of Equity Derivatives and apply it to actionable trade ideas.
Work with Research, Strategy, and Trading to help the desk generate content for Sales distribution.
Help the team embrace technology that will lead to improvements in our daily workflow.
Liaise with Trading to find risk sharing opportunities for our clients.

This role has an expected salary range of $115,000-$135,000 for the New York, NY market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position.
The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
