About The Position

Obra Capital is seeking an Analyst, Derivative Operations to join our New York office. Reporting to the Head of Operations, this role will support the firm’s growing credit platform and expansion into derivative securities. The Analyst will be responsible for a broad range of operational functions related to equity derivatives, including options, futures, forwards, synthetics, ETFs, and related instruments. This role will work closely with investment professionals (portfolio managers and traders), internal infrastructure teams (including accounting, finance, tax, compliance, and legal), and third-party service providers to manage and control daily portfolio activity across investment products. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of the securities trade lifecycle, hands-on experience with equity derivative pricing and settlement, and exposure to structured credit instruments such as CLOs, ABS, RMBS, and CMBS.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Accounting or Finance preferred
  • 1–3+ years of relevant operations experience within an investment management, hedge fund, or asset management environment
  • Experience with equity derivative settlement and administration strongly preferred
  • Experience working with portfolio and order management systems; Enfusion experience is a plus
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions such as VLOOKUP and PivotTables
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg and financial market data platforms is advantageous

Responsibilities

  • Support daily operational processes that enable portfolio management and trading activities across the firm
  • Assist in the onboarding and enhancement of operational infrastructure, systems, and workflows
  • Liaise with internal teams, third-party service providers (including portfolio and order management systems, data vendors), and counterparties to oversee the full trade lifecycle for equity derivatives
  • Review and support daily, monthly, and quarterly valuation, reconciliation, and position verification processes
  • Participate in cash management and treasury functions, including liquidity and collateral management
  • Prepare portfolio- and manager-level reporting; analyze holdings, performance, leverage, and risk exposures
  • Execute departmental procedures and internal controls to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to operational standards
